We wanted to break this post out into it’s own, separate from our post on cheap wedding flowers, because we felt it’s worthy of it’s own due to the more intimate nature of bouquets and boutonnieres – being more prevalent to the wedding party and less a “decoration”.
Cheap Wedding Boutonnieres
Boutonnieres are a flower decoration designed to be worn by men on their suit jacket’s lapel. For more information on boutonnieres click here.
The good news here is both fresh and silk boutonnieres are not expensive at all! I know breath of fresh air huh? Pricing for fresh flower boutonnieres is roughly $20 each, while silk ones go for about $10 each. If you’re keeping these to just the groom and groomsmen, you should be able to get out for an average of $100 for fresh and $50 for silk, total. Not bad right?
Cheap Wedding Bouquets
Ahh, the bouquet. Traditionally held by the bride and similar or coordinating ones held by her bridesmaid(s). Learn more about wedding bouquets here. Wedding bouquets have much more complexity than boutonnieres, and thus they cost a bit more. Silk bouquets cost about $15 each and fresh bouquets go for an average of $100 a piece. Not cheap, especially if you’re thinking of having your bridesmaids hold fresh bouquets as well. If you’re set on fresh, here’s an idea to save some money – find a nice fresh bouquet for you, the bride, to hold; and find coordinating silk ones for the bridesmaids to hold. This will save you money and yet preserve the special nature of having a fresh wedding bouquet to toss at the end of the night to the next one to get married! 😉
There are plenty of alternatives to a traditional wedding bouquet. You can order flowers (fresh or silk) and make your own bouquets or you can even go completely nontraditional and use craft supplies or even book pages to make ones that fit your theme. A little searching and you’re bound to find some ideas you can put together into a fun and unique piece!
